2024 Girls Club Championship Registration

2024 GIRLS CLUB CHAMPIONSHIPS INFORMATION

Each year, all Field Hockey clubs in BC are invited to attend Field Hockey BC’s (FHBC) Club Festivals and Championships. These are hosted in different locations and offer an excellent opportunity for participants to travel with a team and play against other clubs from around the province.

Club Championship information and dates are here: https://fieldhockeybc.com/events/club-championships/

Registration on this form is for U12 (festival), U14, U16 and U18 Girls. Whether we send a team will depend on the interest level and coach availability.

U12 Festival: June 1-2 (Burnaby Lake Complex – Burnaby)
U14 Tier 1 & 2 Championship: June 15-16 (TBD – on mainland)
U16 Tier 1 & 2 Championship: June 8-9 (UVic – Victoria)
U18 Tier 1 & 2 Championship: May 24 (eve) and May 25-26 (Tamanawis Park – Surrey)

Clubs across the province will be sending teams to participate in these events, offering VJFHA players an additional opportunity to their Spring League experience with several games over a two or three-day period. It is a highlight for the players, offering new competition, travel, team jerseys, lots of fun, and team bonding.

Player Cost and Responsibilities:

Although these tournaments are an additional opportunity outside the regular league season, the VJFHA is committed to supporting the teams by committing funds to help cover turf costs for assessments, Club Championship team entry fee, and support for coach/umpire travel subsidies.

All participants selected to a team will be responsible for their own transportation (vehicle/ferry), accommodation and meal costs. In addition, each participant will be required to pay a Club Championship player fee to cover additional team costs, including but not limited to:

• Practice turf fee (two to three 1-hour sessions)
• Personalized jersey and socks (to keep)
• Team snacks and incidentals

The tournament fee will be approximately $70.00 per person but will be confirmed after registration.

Please note the assessment dates, practice dates and tournament dates. While ‘assessments’ may seem scary, the teams are meant to be maximize participation and if we don’t have to make cuts or have trials, we won’t, but we need to see everyone together to either make two teams appropriately (tiered or balanced – TBD) or to ensure everyone who is interested is prepared to play in a competition of this nature.
